Galvanize

At Galvanize, I joined as the Web Development program was on its last legs as a Ruby on Rails bootcamp. I had one week before my first class of 30 people to write a new Javascript-focused curriculum, with enough Data Structures and Algorithms content to pass technical interviews in the Bay Area. The first class had a 90% graduation rate, with a 96% hiring rate. The second class had a 88%% graduation rate with a 90% hiring rate. I then moved to standardize the curriculum across all programs, as my class’s content was the best performing out of 11 sites. I then matrix-managed all lead instructors to adopt the DS&A curriculum, and the Node.js curriculum I wrote, and pushed other successful elements from other classes out to those classes. Overall my programs at Galvanize graduated around 12,000 people.

Shortly after I left, Galvanize acquired Hack Reactor due to falling hiring rates, and replaced my program with Hack Reactor. Hack Reactor’s CEO then took over Galvanize and sold it to K12.
